There are plenty of locks of the market that can resist all types of attack, some better than others. So why is it that 439,000 bicycles were stolen in the year 2005/6 in the UK alone? And half of these thefts occurred in the owner’s property.

Whilst the amount of time a thief can get through a lock is an important feature in buying a lock, sglocks goes a step further and implements an inbuilt alarm system within the lock body. A usual D-lock will be resistant to attacks varying in time from 1-5 minutes. Our design accomplishes the same task whilst also emitting a high-pitched alarm. This gives our locks the added advantage over other locks:

It deters the attacker and alert others to its presence.

The most important point here is that thieves do not want to be seen or heard. Whilst most locks can resist an attack for a certain period of time, a lock that is emitting a high frequency alarm will make the thief think twice about continuing their attack and running the risk of alerting people to their presence.
